BAR LUME - Vrijdagmarkt 33, Gent
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The new regulation demands we have to close at 11pm (last drinks at 10:30pm). As we never ask an entrance fee (and we don't have subventions or any other form of financial support), we have to make enough revenue by (only) selling drinks. With this new regulation we will never be able to sell enough drinks to pay the musicians their fair share and we will not ask them to play for free. So we had no other choice but to cancel all the musical performances for the coming time.
But some musicians/bands prefere to play anyway and, after their set, they (or we) will go 'round with 'the hat' to ask you - the audience - for a contribution. We hope it'll be as generous as the offer of those musicians to play 'for free'.The love for music is strong these days - the need might even be stronger.
